Our Story

A Dream Built Together

The story of Seminole Bee Farms began on Alejandra and Slobo’s second date in 2022. Slobo took Alejandra to see his beehives, and from that moment, something changed. She fell in love with the sound and scent of the honeybees and became so fascinated that she wanted to join him at the apiary every day.

Together, they began documenting their days caring for honeybee colonies, harvesting honey, and learning the art of beekeeping. That is how Seminole Bee Farms’ social media presence was born. As they shared their first adventures as beekeepers, people in the local community began asking where they could purchase their honey and whether they also offered live bee rescue and removal services.

Slobo brought his connection with the bees, his beekeeping knowledge, and his dedication to the work in the apiary. Alejandra saw the potential to turn that passion into something bigger and brought the vision needed to build a real business.

Building Something Real

Together, they opened a small honey stand outside their home, built the Seminole Bee Farms brand, and began earning the trust of customers throughout Seminole, St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and the Tampa Bay area.

The journey was not easy. For months, they worked without paying themselves and spent countless hours under the intense Florida sun—caring for honeybee colonies, performing live bee rescues, harvesting and bottling raw local honey, attending community events, and pursuing a dream that was only beginning.

Seminole Bee Farms Today

Today, Alejandra and Slobo are the owners and heart of Seminole Bee Farms in Seminole, Florida—a working bee farm and apiary, local honey store, live bee rescue and relocation service, and educational space dedicated to helping people better understand the importance of honeybees and other pollinators.

Together, they now care for more than 150 honeybee colonies and continue expanding their knowledge through the University of Florida Master Beekeeper Program. Their hands-on experience in the apiary, ongoing education, and dedication to responsible beekeeping guide everything they do—from caring for their colonies and producing local honey to rescuing bees and educating the community.

Visitors can discover locally harvested honey and hive products, learn about honeybees, experience beekeeping firsthand, and connect with the people behind the hives.

And This Is Only the Beginning

What began with a second date and a few beehives became the life Alejandra and Slobo built together.

This is not only a story about bees.

It is the story of two dreamers who combined their strengths, believed in one another, and transformed a shared passion for beekeeping, honeybees, education, and bee conservation into a local business with purpose.

And this is only the beginning.
